The CS260B-MONO is the base monochromator model which is offered in multiple configurations as part of our specials process. Choosing a specific Cornerstone 260B model is based upon the wavelength range of interest and the type of input and output slits required.
By integrating a Newport motion stage, scan speed is faster, wavelength accuracy is doubled, and wavelength precision is greatly increased over the original models. Utilizing larger gratings has improved the optical throughput and reduced spillover. A robust mechanical design and optical mounting configuration has increased rigidity and reproducibility. The base model includes both USB and RS232 communication ports.
To help increase the longevity of the instrument, Newport recommends returning the monochromator to the factory periodically for re-calibration and service. Three tiers of service are conventienly offered and more information can be found here. We also offer the opportunity to change gratings or slit configurations during this factory service.
